Beautiful set of 8 dining chairs by Austrian architect Oswald Haerdtl (1899-1959). Probably beech although I'm not a wood specialist. These chairs have become a classic on my site because I keep buying them for several reasons. I think their look is stunning, absolutely, from front to back. Secondly they're sturdy, I'm not afraid of fragility with these which is not always the case with vintage chairs. And last because I think they're comfortable. But this is a never-ending discussion because what's comfortable for one is not necessarily the case for another person. I have put these around numerous tables, in very different interiors and every time, I think they look gorgious. Really, I do not get tired of these, at all. They have scratches and stains and everything they need to look warm and used and with a soul. Very good condition.
