Magnificent set of 10 by Austrian designer and architect Oswald Haerdtl (1899-1959). This is THE set I have been dreaming of over the last 5 years. I have never seen such a large set of these very rare double hole model chairs which have been produced in a limited (although I don't know how much) amount. They're not re-edited, so the only ones on the market are old ones dating from the from the fiftes and sixties. Their production (Ton, ex-Thonet) stopped at the end of the sixties. They are sturdy and comfortable because the seating is large and the curve of the back gives a nice feeling. The beech is beautifully patinated with traces of years but no deep scratches. Some stains in the wood that add to their charm. If you are looking for a rare chair, an eye-catcher, one that almost no-one has, take your chance.
