Pair of low back kitchen & bar stools by Finish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). Alvar Aalto was a very famous modern architect and designer with international success. When he worked on architectural projects (both public and private), he designed them from the beginning to the end, including furniture and lamps (beautiful lamps!). Artek (manufacturer of his furniture) was founded in 1935 by Alvar Aalto and his wife (and Maire Gullichsen and Nils-Gustav Hahl) and still produces Aalto's furniture along with other famous designers furniture. These barstools are absolutely charming and really hard to find. The're in used vintage condition, only one of them has a chip of wood missing on it's back (last pic) and on the foot. They fit very will in a modern interior because of the warmth of their wood (birch).
