Another set of 8 Oswald Haerdtl (Austrian architect and designer 1899-1959) dining chairs produced by Ton (former Thonet). The chairs have been reupholstered in a beautiful greige fabric, it's very chic. This set is in mint condition. Even people who are afraid of buying vintage because of some scratches or traces of usage would be seduced. They are very comfortable with their integrated cushion. I'm a real fan of these chairs because they have lots of qualities beside the fact that they're comfortable and sturdy; they're extremely chic, not often seen, have never been copied or not even reproduced legally either. These can warm up any modern interior. Sometimes I visit newly built houses, restored interiors with concrete everywhere and very modern, sometimes even cold, furniture. Whenever a piece of vintage furniture is added to these interiors it just changes everything and it makes my day. Why would we always buy new? It's just so much more personal to have used and recycled pieces in a home. It just adds to the warmth and the authenticity of an interior. I could write hours about this and get very upset with the instinct one can have to keep buying new instead of used, full of charm, history based items. But I don't want to be upset, let's cool down and enjoy these pics and let our imagination fool around in our houses.
