Gorgeous set of 6 dining chairs for Thonet by Oswald Haerdtl. These chairs are becoming so hard to find over the years because they have lots of success and are much searched for. This set is really beautiful, full of history and stories and warmth. The patina is different on each chair like the character of the kids in a family. They have some stains and scratches and traces of use of course because they have been used for so many years. But they match together and complete one another. I have always loved these because they are not copied and even more, not re-edited which is always a plus as far as I'm concerned. In a world with so much mondialisation and same things everywhere I appreciate all the more the originality and the rareness of some pieces of furniture. No fear of breaking them because they're very sturdy, yet easy to carry. They look nice from the front and from the back, which is not always the case. What more can one ask?
