Set of 6 magnificent and charming stools by Alvar Aalto for Artek. These chairs where in a house where they have intensively been used by a family since 1976. Imagine that, they are 45 years old and still in great shape (makes me think of some women I know ;-)). So what you see is what you get, no remodeling, no reshaping, no silicone in these babies. Authenticity, charm and real stuff. They are still ok for 45 more years to go (makes me think of...juste kidding). Still heavy and sturdy. One piece of wood is missing (last pic) on the side of the seat of 1 stool. Nothing disturbing, just something to know. Beautiful patina and traces of age and lots of discussions have been held on these ones. If you need some warmth around your new modern and shiny kitchen island, this is the perfect item to balance old&new and give it and immediate 'lived in' atmosphere.
