Stunning sixties armchair with beautiful leather by French designer Pierre Chapo (1927-1987). He mostly works with wood like orme, oak and ash. Chapo works in a traditional way. He's an authentic craftsman who loves sculptural and organic shapes. His furniture is brutalist and heavy and so nice to touch! The shapes are just incredible. This S10 chair is also called the Sahara chair. The leather is very thick and the wooden frame (i don't know which wood, I definitely need some courses in wood recognising or whatever that's called) is OMG so stunning, very shaker style like. Strong, heavy, sturdy...so masculine. This gives "it" to your interior, it would personalize it immediately. This chair has a good patina with stains and traces of usage. Exactly how I like the leather to be, it's worn and warm but no cracks or tears or anything like that. It's really a beautiful item.
