I wish I could tell you a nice story about these but I can't ;-) I don't know anything about the wood, except it's a lovely shade. I know nothing about the designer although the bent wood between it's legs makes me think of Thonet. I bought these from an old men who had more but the other ones had been painted so the originality was all out of it. I decided to buy just this pair which si absolutely full of charm and could be added to a another set you might already have. They are warm and really beautiful. Imagine these in a double bedroom. Each one would have his own chair to throw his stuff on. Or in a bathroom...that would be stunning. Like in a very contemporary one, which is cold, but then these would give the perfect atmosphere of charm and cosyness. SH : 47cm
