Magnificient set of 8 chairs by Antonin Suman, produced by Thonet. This model is called Tatra. It was produced between 1950 & 1960 by Thonet which name became TON after 1948's communist revolution. The wooden frame has been left in it's original state and therefore has a beautiful patina which is different on each chair. They have been re-upholsterd with a beautiful strong grey fabric. This chair is absolutely charming, very comfortable and not often seen. It's a real beauty around any dining table : elegant altough not fragile, easy to carry and with a charming retro look. Label underneath the seating.
