Magnificent pair of lounge chair by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for Artek. This chair was designed in 1946 and is more seen in the version with leather strings. The caned version is more rare and there is not much information to be found about it. Anyway this is as we say in French "le comble du chic". Rarely seen, simple, refined, ...chic. Nothing else to add. Very good condition, 2 small traces of usage as seen on 2 last pics. Nothing regarding to the age of these. Magnificent details, combination of cane and wood is stunning.
You put these at home and people will say "oh where did you find these"? You'll have to say matter of factly : well I found these on a website managed by a very nice lady called Caroline. She's got a hell of a taste, that's sure. She's quite funny and when she's in a good mood (which of course is not always the case, you know,"lifesnotjustlikeoninstagram") you can have a good laugh with her ;-)
More seriously these are a good catch if you are looking for something different.
